What is Recess Art?
In Maker-space style, Recess Art gives kids a chance to develop the habits of artists: curiosity, open-mindedness, play, to gain basic understandings of art mediums and concepts, and an appreciation for the process of making art.
As depression in kids reaches noteworthy numbers, recess art tries to create a safe space where kids can go, dust off their souls and create.
How Does it Work?
Recess Art happens once a month at lunch recess. Students experience a variety of art mediums: drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, and printmaking in an open, play-based format.
